THE HORROR VAULT
Important announcement
We're working on a major upgrade to VHSXP.com, which may include a new web app experience.
During this transition, features like Update Record and Retrieve Record ID will be unavailable – and will eventually be phased out with the introduction of a better user experience. In the meantime, to update your screenplay draft or any submission details, please email your requests to [email protected] from the same email address that you used during your submission and be sure to include the exact changes needed and where they apply, so we can process it right away.
The submission process stays unaffected during this upgrade
Your submissions will go live on the site without any interruption. You can continue submitting your projects as usual.Just a small exception: Confirmation emails will be paused during this upgrade, so you won’t receive an automatic confirmation after submitting your project. Please check the site after a short while to see if your project is live. If your submission aligns with the website guidelines, it’s typically approved and published right away.If there’s anything that needs to be changed, we’ll email you directly with the required updates so your project can be published on the site.
While work goes on behind the scenes, your patience and continued support is greatly valued as VHSXP.com undergoes this transformation.
A step closer to production
Are you a Horror Screenwriter?
List your work (for free) and connect with Filmmakers, Producers, and other industry pros eager to discover fresh ideas.
But first, take a moment to go through the Submission Guidelines and One-Pager Instructions.
Also, know about the Approval Process so you know what to expect when you hit submit.
Important: new submission guidelines
When sharing your one-pager and full screenplay, please include direct links to your own PDF files (hosted on file-sharing services like Google Drive or Dropbox) and make sure the viewing access isn't restricted. From this point on, we won’t be approving submissions that link to external script-sharing platforms, since many require signing up or a login to view the document. Using a direct link to your own PDF files that are hosted on a file-sharing service (like Google Drive or Dropbox) ensures your work and your contact information is easily accessible to all viewers.
One-Pager Instructions
The first impression matters. A well-crafted One-Pager increases the likelihood of your screenplay being read.
It should follow a standard industry format and include key details such as a logline, genre, character details, and a structured summary. Most importantly, include your contact information.
Keep it clear, concise, and professional, and avoid voice-over narrations or unconventional formats.
Presenting your One-Pager this way makes it easier for the right people to evaluate your work and may even encourage them to reach out.
Approving a project
Approval process is typically immediate once we verify that your submission meets our guidelines. If there’s any issue with your submission, we’ll contact you shortly via email with the necessary changes so it can be published live. Please keep an eye on your email inbox and your spam folder too in case we need to reach out. If your project doesn’t appear on the site after some time, it's likely we’ve emailed you for updates.
